Years ago, my Mom, Marcella Kochan signed up for a stained glass class. She quickly realized she had a talent and knack for making stained glass pieces. Marci made many different projects. Whether it was a sun catcher, nightlight, lamp, table, sidelight, or a window, the same high quality and craftsmanship went into each piece.
Most pieces were created and presented as gifts to friends and family. Others were donated to fund raisers. Marci had dreams of opening a store until 1993 when she was diagnosed with cancer. She never opened a store but made sure her talents of the trade were passed on. She continued to work on stained glass until her death in December of 1998.
In January 2004, Anthracite Glass Company, LLC was established in Washington state. The name just seemed to fit since I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania, which has the nation’s largest deposit of Anthracite coal. Anthracite Glass Company, LLC was relocated to the state of Arizona. I have two goals: 1) Hold custom projects to the same high standard in quality and craftsmanship as my mother did. 2) Treat every project, including the smallest as if it’s the largest . Every piece I make represents me and I go to great lengths to ensure customer satisfaction.
